Chennai: IndiGo Airlines will introduce daily direct flights between Chennai and Penang starting December 21, 2024, reducing travel time from 7 hours to just 4. This makes Penang IndiGo's third direct Malaysian destination, following Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi.
The move aims to meet increasing travel demand between the cities and strengthen cultural and economic ties between India and Malaysia. Penang is emerging as a popular destination, known for its vibrant heritage, scenic beauty, and world-renowned street food.
Additionally, IndiGo will resume Bengaluru-Kuala Lumpur flights on the same date. With 28 weekly flights connecting India to Malaysia, this expansion enhances connectivity for leisure and business travelers.
